The precision casting silica sol process usually includes the following steps:

Mold preparation: First, a precision mold needs to be made, which can be made of metal, ceramics or other materials. The design and fabrication of the mold need to take into account the shape, size and accuracy requirements of the required casting.

Silica sol coating: Coating silica sol on the surface of the mold can be done by brushing, spraying or dipping. The thickness and uniformity of the coating layer need to be controlled during the coating process.

Hardening treatment: The coated mold needs to be hardened, usually by drying, calcining or other heating methods to solidify the silica sol. This step allows the silica sol to form a strong shell.

Silica sol burning off: The hardened mold needs to be silica sol burning off. Through high-temperature treatment, the silica sol is burned off, leaving a cavity.

Casting: After the metal is melted, it is poured into the cavity of the mold. After the metal cools and solidifies, it is taken out to obtain a precision casting. Appropriate pouring temperature and cooling rate need to be controlled during the casting process to ensure the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the casting.

Precision casting silica sol has the advantages of high precision, good surface quality and detail reproducibility, and is suitable for making castings with complex shapes and fine dimensions, such as aerospace, automobiles, electronics Parts and components in equipment and other fields. At the same time, precision casting silica sol also has certain process complexity and high cost, so various factors need to be considered comprehensively during application.
